Message from the Executive Director
Dear Friends and Partners,
Welcome to Lamuka Innovation Center a place where hope, innovation, and transformation come together to empower refugees and host community youth in Nakivale Refugee Settlement.
As a refugee myself, I understand the challenges of displacement limited opportunities, lost dreams, and the constant struggle for dignity. Lamuka was born out of this experience, with a mission to unlock the untapped potential of young people through skills training, entrepreneurship, and community-driven innovation.
At Lamuka, we believe that refugees are not just beneficiaries they are changemakers. Every course we teach, every startup we incubate, and every life we touch is a step toward building a more resilient and self-reliant community.
We are grateful for the incredible support of our partners, trainers, volunteers, and most importantly, the youth who show up every day with passion and purpose.
Together, we are not only creating jobs we are restoring hope, dignity, and opportunity where it’s needed most.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
Warm regards,
Imani Barhame Gedeon
